My wife Lorretta and I celebrated 28 years on Friday. Well, 28 years of knowing each other. It would be 5 months after we met that we were married. Throughout the years, we’ve traveled many times to Tybee Island, always looking for new places to explore. The latest place we discovered a couple years ago was Little Tybee Island, which can be accessed by Kayaks.
We have been on the road and currently in Ridley Park where we shot engagement photos for Tyler and Amy, who will be married in September 2017.
A good friend from our church asked if we could do their daughters Senior Pictures, and we said yes! Caroline is an honor role student at Edmund Burke Academy and plans on attending Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Ga. Caroline is a believer and has a blog where she writes about matters of faith. Check it out here.
Burke County residents gathered at American Legion Post 120 on Monday to remember those who gave their lives while serving our country. Keynote speaker Jason R. Huffman, Maj, USAF (Retired) talked to the large Memorial Day crowd about the shift of young people desiring to serve in the military.
4th grader Dawson Chandler of EBA makes it into 2nd base for the Southeast Restoration Group’s team as 4th grader Eric Paterson from Blakeney Elementary tries to tag him out. Paterson plays for the AgGeorgia Farm Credit team. Both teams are part of the Mite Boys Baseball league at Burke County Recreation Department. The First Lady of the United States Mrs. Michelle Obama visited Burke County Middle School, Waynesboro, GA on April 7, 2016 to observe the skills that Middle School students have learned as a result of the STEM-based learning garden which supports their “End Hunger Games” project. Members of the press from Augusta as well as Atlanta covered the event. Security was provided by the White House’s Secret Service as well as Ga State Patrol and local agencies.
